Abstract: | In my thesis, I investigate Infinitism, a theory of epistemic justification that claims that such justification depends on an infinite chain of reasons. Specifically, I motivate the look to Infinitism by noting problems with the more traditional theories of epistemic justification, substantiate a presently thin part of the doctrine (its account of how the individual must relate to the chain), and then work with that substantiation to refute the most potentially threatening objection to the position. |
