Abstract: A through-composed vocal sound piece taking the listener through an emotional journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. The piece is composed of 6 movements: Fear, Peace, Anger, Joy, Sadness, and finally Acceptance, mirroring various stages of conflict and grief. A tale of the self, expressed through the "speaker" is then conveyed to the "listener", with the intent of having the listener go through a similar joint experience, culminating finally in mystic, sung "Oms", meant to unify both speaker and listener. Each movement holds within it various representations of tension and release and similar rhythmic and melodic elements that repeat themselves across movements of similar emotions. What at first seems like a move to release may warp in the listener's ear to become tension precluding release, and this pattern continues up until the final release of the "Oms," representing the daily struggles one faces in and the final achievement of feeling at peace and at home with oneself and the Universe.
