Multi-device usage across the world is growing rapidly, with many users owning both smartphones and computers (and increasingly, smartwatches). Device-to-device interaction is currently limited, and inhibits users from taking full advantage of the technology. This project aims to develop a few applications that bridge the gap between devices. First, we build out the infrastructure that allows multi-device communication, relying on Google Cloud Messaging, a push noti cation platform. In the rst stage of the project, we develop, test, and launch Pairit Media - allowing users to control media (YouTube, Net ix, Pandora, etc.) in their Chrome browser from their Android smartphone. We move beyond media to use the touchscreen phone as a drawing tablet for the computer in the second stage of the project. Overall, these two applications hope to provide a productive start towards a world in which users engage in useful simultaneous multi-device usage.en_US
